Who we are
This policy explains how Johnny Boutros Hair Salon (“we”, “us”) handles personal information in the Johnny Boutros mobile app for iPhone and Android, and when you book with the salon through that app.
The app is used to create an account, book appointments, see services and products, and receive booking messages. It is operated in connection with our website at johnnyboutros.com.
Information we collect
When you create an account, we collect:
- Your name
- Your mobile phone number
- A password, stored in protected form by our authentication provider
- Your date of birth, if you provide it
- Your email address, if you provide it
Your phone number is also used to create the sign-in identity for your account. We send a one-time code to that number on WhatsApp when you sign up or reset your password. The code is temporary and is used only to confirm that the number belongs to you.
When you use the app, we also store:
- Appointment details, including the service, staff member, date, and time
- Photos and short videos that salon staff select from their photo library to show services, products, staff, and promotions
- A push-notification token for your device, if you allow notifications, so we can send booking updates
The app does not ask for your location, camera, or microphone. The About screen can open a map to the salon address. If you use Refer a Friend, your phone’s share sheet sends the message. We do not receive your contact list from that share.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use the app to track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising.
How we use information

- To show the salon’s services, staff, products, and promotions
- To send notifications you have allowed
- To respond when you contact the salon
- To keep the app and our booking records secure
Who we share information with
Salon staff and administrators can see the account and booking details they need to run appointments.
We also use these service providers to operate the app:
- Supabase hosts the account database and sign-in service.
- Meta (WhatsApp) delivers the one-time verification code to your phone number.
- Expo, together with Apple Push Notification service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, delivers notifications to your device.
- Apple App Store and Google Play distribute the app. Their own privacy terms apply to purchases, downloads, and store accounts.
We share information if the law requires it, or if it is needed to protect the salon, our customers, or the security of the app.
How long we keep information
We keep your account while it is active. One-time codes are kept only long enough to complete verification. Booking records are kept for the salon’s operations, including appointment history and reminders.
If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your profile, sign-in credentials, and push token. We may keep booking records that the salon needs for its business and legal duties. Where we can, we remove your name from those records.
Your choices and requests
You can:
- Update your profile details in the app
- Turn notifications off in your phone settings
- Ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your account
To request access, correction, or deletion, contact us through johnnyboutros.com and include the phone number on the account. We will respond to a deletion request and delete the account data described above.
Children
The app is a salon booking service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete that account.
Security
Account data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with access limited to the salon and the service providers named above. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version at this address and update the effective date. Continued use of the app after the update means the new policy applies to information collected from that date.
